From this privileged spot, you will admire the mighty Ausangate Glacier, the surreal colors of Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain), the captivating formations of Palccoyo, the striking layers of Pallay Punchu, and the enigmatic cliffs of Waqrapukara. Adding to the wonder, you’ll even glimpse the mysterious Lines and Steps of Hayuni and, in the far distance, the iconic fortress of Saqsayhuaman, standing as a timeless guardian of Cusco.

Itinerary

Día

1
Day 1: Pampamach’ay – Delfin Lagoon
  • Pick-up from your hotel at 5:30 am, where our team provides tents, sleeping mats, and a full briefing of the adventure ahead.
  • Scenic drive through traditional villages until reaching Yaucat, where we enjoy a delicious Andean breakfast around 7:00 am.
  • Begin a 5-hour hike toward Pampamach’ay, a sacred site rich in history and surrounded by dramatic mountain views. Here we stop for lunch, replenishing energy while connecting with the spirit of the Andes.
  • Continue with a 3-hour trek through pristine valleys and highland trails until arriving at the stunning Delfín Lagoon, a crystalline body of water set against towering peaks.
  • Set up camp on its shores, savor a warm dinner, and spend the night in this peaceful Andean sanctuary under a canopy of stars.

2
Day 2: Delfin Lagoon – Monerga – Usi
  • Breakfast at 7:00 am before beginning a 4-hour ascent to the awe-inspiring 7 Mountains Viewpoint. From here, admire a sweeping panorama of Ausangate, Vinicunca (Rainbow Mountain), Palccoyo, Pallay Punchu, Waqrapukara, the Lines and Steps of Hayuni, and even distant Saqsayhuaman.
  • Visit the mystical Stone Pilgrims, rock formations known locally as the male and female guardians of these sacred lands.
  • Descend 1 hour to Monerga for a reenergizing lunch.
  • In the afternoon, hike 4 hours toward the welcoming community of Usi, where our camp awaits. Enjoy dinner and a traditional bonfire under the stars, sharing stories in the warmth of Andean hospitality.

3
Day 3: Usi – Huathualaguna Lagoon – Cusco
  • Breakfast at 7:30 am, followed by a short hike to the enchanting Huathualaguna Lagoon in Pataquehuar.
  • Time to relax by the water, spot native bird species, and observe local animals in their natural environment.
  • Enjoy a final lunch surrounded by mountain scenery before boarding private transportation back to Cusco in the afternoon.
  • Arrival in the city with unforgettable memories of one of the Andes’ most hidden treasures.

What to bring

  • Minimum of 2 days acclimatization in Cusco before the trek.
  • Good physical condition required, as trekking days range between 6–8 hours.
  • Bring layered clothing (cold nights), hiking boots, hat, sunscreen, and personal medication.
  • Carry a reusable water bottle (avoid single-use plastics).
  • Small cash for tips or personal purchases in communities.
