Journey deep into the untouched heart of the Amazon with this 5-day, 4-night adventure in Manu National Park. Far from the modern world, this expedition reveals an extraordinary paradise where towering trees, vibrant wildlife, and ancient traditions coexist in perfect harmony.
This immersive journey offers a deeper exploration of the Amazon rainforest, allowing you to experience its extraordinary wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and the living traditions of indigenous communities.
Over the course of five days, you will navigate winding jungle rivers, hike through lush rainforest trails, and discover hidden lagoons and clay licks where hundreds of parrots and macaws gather. With more time in the park, your chances of spotting rare and elusive species—such as giant river otters, capybaras, tapirs, or even the majestic jaguar—are greatly increased.
Evenings in the jungle provide a different kind of adventure, with night walks revealing the sounds and sights of the Amazon after dark. You will also learn about the plants and their traditional uses, gaining a unique perspective on the rainforest’s cultural and ecological importance.

Itinerary
Día
- We depart from Cusco early in the morning in our comfortable bus. We ascend to the highlands of Paucartambo. Along the way, we visit the funerary towers or Chullpas of Ninamarca.
- Then we descend through the mysterious cloud forest, filled with beautiful orchids, heliconias, and primitive ferns.
- We stop to give you the opportunity to witness the Cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola peruviana) during its mating ritual. There are also chances to observe trogons (Trogon sp.) and much more. If we are lucky, we may encounter the only bear in South America, the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus).
- In the afternoon, we will arrive at our typical lodge with bathrooms and showers.
Día
- After a delicious breakfast, we continue our hike to the viewpoint and explore the trails around the lodge and other activities. Overnight at the lodge with bathrooms and showers available.
Día
- After a delicious and nutritious breakfast, we will continue our itinerary traveling by boat to observe the green parrot clay lick; then we will visit Paititi Lake, where we will take a ride on a typical local catamaran to observe a great variety of birds, monkeys, reptiles, dwarf caimans, insects, groups of turtles, and perhaps some capybaras (Hydrochaeris hydrochaeris). After this unforgettable tour, we will return to our lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

- This day we continue our journey by boat along the Upper Madre de Dios River.
- Along the way, we will observe many bird species such as different types of herons, parrots, orioles, ani birds, and vultures, passing through several settler communities living along the river.
- We will also visit the native communities of Shintuya, where we will take a walk through the village to observe their typical houses.
- After a short break, we will head downstream to the natural hot springs, which have medicinal properties for arthritis and bone pain. In the afternoon, we return to our Paititi Lodge.
- Overnight at Paititi Lodge, with the option of a night walk.
Día
- Return by boat from the lodge to Atalaya, passing through Pilcopata and once again visiting the mysterious cloud forest on the way back to the Imperial City of Cusco. We will visit the cloud forest again.
